Religious Education Program
Our Catechetical Ministry is like a grand mosaic -- each piece must carefully be put in its proper place. The goal of the Program is to do just that. The Second Vatican Council states that Faith is the cornerstone in which each individual is nourished and continues to grow, and thus we must teach as Jesus did -- simply, creatively and lovingly.
Here at Saint Jerome's, we are enabled to do this because of parents who value Christ in their own lives and realize the responsibility in helping to form the whole child -- physically, emotionally, and socially, but more important spiritually. Coupled with this are our dedicated teachers who give of their time and energy becoming in many cases a role model for the students.
In our program, we follow the guidelines of the National Catholic Directory and for continuity, we use the Sadlier Program in Grades 1-9, "Born in the Spirit" by Richard Reichert along with Liguori Bulletins are presented and dialogued by the Confirmation students, hopefully encouraging them to further ask questions concerning their life of faith.
Communication in regard to time and days of classes continues to take place among parents, students and our DRE, Sister Barbara, during the school year and in the summer months.
All of the above forms the grand mosaic; each piece carefully placed around the center of all we say and do -- CHRIST
