Come Meet One Of Our OwnReverend Kevin M. McDonough '69
The Reverend Kevin M. McDonough, a member of the St. Jerome School Class of 1969, was ordained a priest in 1980, and received his Doctorate in Canon Law (J.C.D.) from the University of Saint Thomas Aquinas, Rome, in 1987. He currently serves as vicar general and moderator of the curia for the Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis, and as pastor at the Church of Saint Peter Claver in Saint Paul, Minn. Father McDonough is a board member of St. John Vianney Seminary, The St. Paul Seminary and the board of governors of the University of St. Thomas School of Law. Other board memberships include Catholic Charities, CommonBond Communities, St. Thomas Academy, Hill-Murray Sponsorship Board, The Catholic Spirit, the Salvation Army, and the Academy of the Holy Angels. He is a member of the Canon Law Society of America, the National Catholic Education Association and the Western Regional Association for College Seminaries.
Father McDonough has written publications and has given numerous
presentations and workshops concerning clergy misconduct issues and how churches respond, as well as on the preparation of seminarians. He has conducted student and professional trainings concerning clergy misconduct issues for the Canon Law Society of America (national and
regional), the Texas Catholic Conference, and a number of other organizations, programs and abbey communities in Minnesota, Massachusetts, Texas, Iowa, and Kentucky. Father McDonough maintains an active involvement in his community, and is fluent in Spanish and Italian. He enjoys reading, team sports, and passing the time with family and friends – undeniable characteristics of an SJS Alumnus!
