2004 Report & 2005 Plan for Success!

Dear SJS Alumna/Alumnus,

"It had long since come to my attention that people of accomplishment rarely sat back and let things happen to them. They went out and happened to things."

That's exactly what SJS Alumni and their families are doing by participating in the Association's annual program of events, collaborating with the parish community at all levels, and by funding a number of projects key to the success of our parish school's mission. Since the founding of our Association, alumni have contributed nearly $25,000 and have helped fund the replacement of our classroom and office windows, the painting of the first floor classrooms, ceiling fans for 4 of 8 classrooms, and we have seeded an Endowment Fund (critical to funding future faculty, facility and program initiatives) - it's small, but with your help, growing!

We have initiated a number of programs designed to strengthen connections between our Alumni and their Alma Mater, and create partnerships with our entire faith community. They include the Class Act Pizza Party, Pin Induction Ceremony, and a new collaborative initiative with St. Jerome's CYO program - the CYO Teen Mass & Alumni Reception. And this is just a start! Looking ahead, we will continue to help finish priority projects, and identify new ways we can "Happen to Things!" through new initiatives including: A Distinguished Alumni Award Program and a Young Alumni program!

50/50 Alumni Challenge Raffle

The SJS Alumni Association announces the SJS 50/50 Alumni Challenge Raffle! Proceeds from the Raffle will be used to fully fund the installation of Classroom Ceiling Fans with any remaining funds going towards the SJS Endowment Fund.

Tickets are $10 each and will be emailed to each participant (to conserve costs). Proceeds will be split 50/50, so share the news with friends and family because the more people who participate, the bigger the split! This raffle will run from April 30 through June 6, 2005, and the drawing will be held on June 7, 2005. You do not have to be present to win. The winner will be notified by phone and/or mail.

One of our own, Dave Knight '83, of Jump for Fun has jumped into the SJS Renovations Campaign with a great offer to give it some "bounce!" For every rental to SJS families & alumni, Dave will make a donation to our campaign! If you are planning a party for some special youngster in your life, give Dave a call and tell him you're from SJS. You'll put a smile on a lot of little faces, including all the students at St. Jerome School!
